Happy Birthday Hayden

For the 1st time in 7 years we have had a successful birthday celebration with Hayden. He was really excited about all the presents everyone would give him. Even though the list changed daily all the gifts were right on target and he was happy. His favorite gifts are the Littlest Pet Shop Hospital and the Star Wars Lego set. The grandma's did good! His other favorite gift was the Webkinz penguine that he named Mumble...then Flurry, then Phillip, then Happy Feet, then Chubby Cheeks, then Mumble, then (finally) Chubby Cheeks.

He got: 2 snakes from Harley and Hunter (fake of course, but it didn't make Grandma B feel any better), Sports MP3 Player (meaning it can get banged around, dropped, stepped on, and wet and will keep working! Perfect for him!), basketball shorts, spongebob shirt ("Today is another day... to mess things up!"), Knex, Star Wars Lego set, brown jacket with a hood, Star Wars action figures, Littlest Pet Shop Animal Hospital, and Chubby Cheeks the Penguine.

Happy Birthday Buddy! March 27, 2008 7 years old!

In Loving Memory

This year seems to be starting off a little rough for us. We had yet another death in our family. Our Grandpa/Great Grandpa Val Dean Dalling passed away March 26, 2008. The kids got to spend Thanksgiving with him in Idaho and we are now grateful for the time we were able to spend with him. We will miss him, but know that he is in a better place, and know he has been reunited with Grandma Dalling.
I have to give thanks to my Uncle Dean and his family for taking such good care of Grandpa and Grandma for all these years. Uncle Dean can now sleep in peace at night.
I am also thankful that I was able to help take care of Grandpa while he was staying with my Mom and Dad and over Thanksgiving. Grandpa Dalling was a great man and we will miss him.

Hunter's Longhouse

Hunter got to make a model of a Cheroke Longhouse. With much help from Dad and Hayden he finished it this weekend and will turn it in on Tuesday. It was not his favorite thing to build but he did a good job sticking with the project to the end. He even attempted to end before it was finished by saying, "I am just not interested in this, you can finish it and let Hayden help, no on will know." Yeah right!

Happy Easter 2008!

Easter festivities started Saturday morning when the kids opened their Easter presents from Maka & Baka. Hayden got a green shirt, Hunter got a light blue shirt, and Harley got a sun dress w/ leggings. Thanks Maka! Then at 11am we went to Grandma & Grandpa B's house for a Easter lunch and egg hunt. It was chilly yet sunny so the kids had fun playing basketball, football, swimming in the hot tub, and looking for candy!
Sunday morning the kids awoke to baskets of prizes. Hunter got his very own basketball, Hayden his very own football, and Harley got ear rings for "big girls" and a pearl necklace w/ matching ear rings & bracelet. It was a small but good Easter and we had fun together. Happy Easter to you all!

Harley did her State Report this year! She got Colorado and worked very hard on doing her very best. She worked hard on the written part and Mom typed it for her, then she worked hard on the poster, then the cake (with the help of Dad and Hunter), and finally the oral report.

Her oral report was typed up and ready to go...then the morning of the report our computer decided to blow up and erase everything! We frantically tried to rewrite the report and through tears and frustration Harley presented her report to the 5th Graders at LPA. She did a great job and we are anticipating an A!

Addition to the Munk Family

Last week we were given the opprotunity to open our home to a unwanted, well-trained, loveable Golden Labrador. He is beautiful and VERY large, but the kids adore him. Hunter and Harley named him Dwight Shrute (if you are not rolling with laughter you need to brush up on your "Office" experience). We call him Shrute and he has adapted well to our family. He loves to be the center of attention and needs lots of hugs and loves. Thank heavens we live with Hayden, he takes care of most of the attention that Shrute needs. Hayden has discovered that he can ride Shrute, play football (tackle of course) with him, and put him in a head lock during a wrestling match! Shrute is a champion and we are all grateful Hayden is directing his physical attention to Shrute instead of us!
