Merry Christmas!

We had a killer Christmas this year. The kids hit the mother load and so did Dave and I! It was really fun to see the kids open their presents and see what Santa brought them.
Harley got:
New scriptures, LOTS of clothes, Clue, a gym bag, ice skates, dress boots, and of course make up!

Hunter got:
a new bike, water bottle, gym bag, ice skates, Monopoly World Edition, basketball shoes and wrist bands, and gloves.
Hayden got:
a pink iPod Shuffle, 2 Littlest Pet Shops, church pants, basketball shoes, ice skates, gym bag, and gloves.
Dave got:
a Scentsy warmer for his office, neck massager, Humdinger(game) robe, wrist watch, cook book, and an iPod arm band.

Stefie got:
2 sweaters, Cluedoodle (game), robe, pajamas, 4 books, Harry Potter book light, and transmitter for iPod (for the truck!) and the family favorite-the Planet Earth series DVD!!!!!
Charlie got:
a new sweater and a sock full of chew toys and tennis balls (he went a bit crazy when he saw the sock of toys-we had to put a hold on the presents until he was calmed and the toys hidden!)
The whole family got:
Rec Center Passes and a Sculptorade (game)!
Like I said it was a very good Christmas this year! Hope you all had as much fun as we did!

Christmas Eve 2008

It was a great Christmas Eve for us this year. We started it off right with a yummy breakfast of Gigi Puffs, bacon, and orange juice. Then it was on to the war of the Wii. Everyone got into the game and played and played and played! Hunter dominated at boxing, beating Dave, Baka, and ME!! Grandma Miles was awesome at bowling and of course the Munk trio, Dave, Baka, and Aunt A were the experts at golf! Hayden schooled us all at baseball and Harley was the tennis guru!
After we forced the kids to turn off the Wii we proceeded with our Christmas Eve festivities! We started with the reenactment of the birth of Christ, Munk style, then it was off to open presents from cousins and Maka, Baka, and Great Grandma Miles.
The hit of the night was from the Penn. Cousin's. They were dead on with the gifts they gave the kids. It was hard to get Hunter away from his gift to open the other presents or even to eat. He has carried that book with him all weekend devouring the information about every President. And of course Hayden has toted his Littlest Pet Shops and Harley could not wait to get home and set up her make-up (hallelujah we have our bathroom drawers back!)
Then it was time for a delicious roast and potato dinner...this is my favorite part of going to Maka's house! After dinner we drove to Angie's house and had another Christmas Eve party! It was fun opening presents from Grandma and Grandpa B and making cookies for Santa! Matt is the luckiest of us all now that he is the proud owner of Never Nude shorts, compliments of Tobias Funke (Arrested Development). Harley got a scripture bag (sure hope she gets something to put in that!) and some shirts, Hunter got a new Jr Jazz size basketball and a football, and Hayden got a football (which was supposed to be the "big" present) but was more interested in the animal coloring book...Shocking! Grandma and Grandpa got some good stuff too! It was a great night and we had a lot of fun, but when we left everyone was so so so tired we all went straight to bed!

Day Before Christmas Eve

We spent the day before Christmas Eve at the Rec. Center with the Munk's. We hit the pool with a fury...

Then we raided the Ice Rink where we dominated in the area of falling and crashing...
It was a fun day and we were exhausted when we left! But the long drive to Maka's house was a perfect opportunity to take a nap and get ready for a sleepover aka night of partying!

Picture Perfect!

It was 7:30am and the sky was bright red...it was a beautiful moment. Harley ran back into the house for my camera and I got these fabulous pictures.
After taking the pictures I told my kids about the chant my Dad taught me:
"Red sky at night,
Sailor's delight.
Red sky in the morning,
Sailor's warning."
Hunter was really interested by that saying and asked a lot of questions. Hayden, in all his wisdom, said, "don't worry Hunt, we do not live by the ocean, this storm will pass right past us!"
Two days later while driving into the city, we noticed the red sky again! The kids yelled, "Mom, take another picture!" And Harley said, "A sailor's delight." What are the odds: a sunrise and sunset both so beautiful and I had my camera to catch the moment.

Happy Birthday Dave!

Happy Happy Birthday Dave! He is older than the hills but we love him anyway! We celebrated early at Maka's house and Dave FINALLY got his OWN iPod! The dinner was delicious (ribs and potato's) and the cake was to die for!
On Wed we went to dinner and celebrated the night at Mimi's Cafe. And guess what Dave ordered again...ribs and potato's! We had a lot of fun! Happy Birthday Love!
