This is what it looks like when we sit down as a family to watch TV. I am wearing the pants that are red with white polka dots, Hunter is wearing the red pants with the stripes down the side, and Hayden is laying on top of both of us. It started out with me sitting on the couch to watch TV, then Hunter sat down next to me and intertwined himself, then Hayden came and topped us off with his body. 
Then they did a really cute object lesson showing the cubs that it takes the boy, the parent, and the cub leader working together to make a firm foundation. After that he got to cross over the bridge into the pack and that was really cool! All the cubs and their leaders stand on either side of a wooden bridge and the new scout gets to walk across the bridge and into the pack!
Then it was Hunter's turn. The pack decided to start a new tradition. The leaders all got together and voted for 1 boy to be the Pack leader. The Den Leader said that this boy was someone that followed the Scout Law, Motto, and Promise. A boy that was a good example and leader to the other scouts. And the leaders voted unanimously for...HUNTER MUNK!! I marvel everyday at what a good boy Hunter is and I am proud of him that he conducts himself well outside of the home too. He is a natural leader and a great friend, this is such a great honor and I am sure it is just the beginning for him. The Pack Leader had some yellow cords and presented them to Hunter to wear on his uniform. It was a great moment and it gave Hayden something to strive to be.
And yes, this is Hunter's "happy face."
Harley has had a glass block sitting in my bookshelf for over a year. This block was supposed to have some ribbon tied on it and vinyl lettering in some sort of a cute saying...but as you all know crafts are very painful for me and thus the block sat and sat collecting much dust.
Harley had her spring concert tonight and as usual she was in the back row so it was nigh on impossible to get a good picture of her with my piece of crap camera...no anger in my heart.
Song Number 2...Harley said this song was really hard because she had to go from the D string to the G string back to the G A E blah blah blah really hard, sounds like Russian, I don't understand the words she is saying...no laughing at the G string :)
Harley is doing so great with the violin and we are so proud of her. Her teacher, Mrs. "Rio", is a great teacher and Harley really likes her. It was a great concert!
Hayden got to be the lead role in a tribute to the flag. He was Francis Scott Key (the man that wrote the Star Spangled Banner). He was so excited and could hardly contain himself. He did an amazing job and I am so proud of him!
This year seems to be the year of projects for Harley and Hunter. First Harley had to do a project on the book Inkheart. She decided to make a book box like the little girl Meggie had in the book. Thanks to Uncle Matt who had the wood supplies we had a fantastic box that she got to decorate. So Harley and I went to work making this box something she would be able to keep in her room forever. I think if turned out really great and the kids all wanted one after they saw Harley's. 
Hunter's project was equally as hard. He had to make a castle with a tower, moat, keep, and towers. Dave and Hunter worked on it for weeks and we were pleased with the end result. He won the "Tiniest Castle" award!
Hunter has been studying the Middle Ages in school and for the end of unit activity, his history teacher held a Knighting Ceremony. Each student was given the opportunity to dress up as a person from the Middle Ages. Hunter chose to be a Nobleman which meant no uniform for him, he paraded around school all day in his garb. I have to admit he looked very authentic, too bad he had to leave his trusty sword and bow at home...safe school issues and all. When we got to the gym it felt as if we were truly in the Kings Court. Candles were lit on the stairs, the lights were dimmed, and all the kids were in costume.
March marks the end of the Basketball Season for Hunter. He did a great job and his team was undefeated! Hunter has been getting up at 5am to go to the Rec Center to practice, all his dedication and practice has been evident by his great defense and awesome lay-ups (reverse being his signature move). He will miss playing with a team but intends to continue the 5am practices to prepare for next year. A big thanks to all the coaches and team players that supported Hunter on this ride. And thanks to Grandma and Grandpa B for coming to a game.
