We went to Texas Roadhouse for Dave's birthday party! He had a HUGE rack of ribs and a LARGE steak. I had a lovely rib eye!! Hunter had a GIGANTIC chicken salad, Harley and Hayden both got a 1/2 rack of ribs. We had a great time and ate until we were sick!
Dave got a TV for his birthday! Yeah for sports in HD!

Thanksgiving with the Bhams

Brett, Kimber and kids came from AZ for Thanksgiving and we had a big party. We had the cousins pick names and get presents for each other, then we got together and opened them. It was a lot of fun! The kids got great gifts.
Harley got a magnet board that matches her bed room. Hunter got a pencil box full of pencils, colored penciles, markers, and 2 sketch pads. Hayden got some more Little Pet Shops (I know shocking!!).Harley's Christmas Concert
Harley, as usual, was amazing at her Christmas Concert. She was in the front row, which means she got an A on her violin test!! Yeah!! Being in the front row is a great honor and we are so proud of her! Grandma and Grandmpa B were able to come and watch her play. And her friends from the neighborhood came also, which was VERY nice of them!
It was a great concert. They class has gotten really good, and Harley is good enough to be teaching Hunter and Hayden some songs to play on their violins. Go Harley! You rock!

Hayden's Christmas Concert
This concert was a source of much rage and anger. Hayden under no circumstances was going to get on that stage and play a "stupid recorder" for people to see. "The recorder is the stupidest instrument that makes the stupidest noise" and he was not having it. He refused to go to music class for the entire month and he was NOT getting on that stage! He even broke his recorder so that he did not have to play it.
But low and behold his teacher had a recorder for him to borrow and she told him "you could pretend to play it. Just put it up to your mouth and pretend to play it." (His teacher is an angel!) Hayden decided that "pretending to play the recorder" was something he could do and he bravely got up on that stage and pretended like a rock star!

Hunter's Christmas Concert
Hunter is taking a violin class in school. This was his first big performance and he nailed it! He would prefer I yell TOUCHDOWN! But it is violin, so we clapped and clapped for him!
I would like to mention that before the performance started, and the students were filling onto the stage, Hunter and his BFF J started to "raise the roof", which caused some snickering in the audience. J's mother and I quickly covered our faces and willed them to behave on stage.

Hunter's Banquet 2009
Hunter's football season came to a close and this weekend we had his banquet. There was ALOT of food to eat and fun times with friends. They signed each other's jerseys, watched a DVD of pictures, and watched a Highlights video made by his coach.
After dinner, Hunter made a small speech about the coaches and presented them with gifts. A footbal signed by each of the boys.
Hunter did a great job. It was (the loudest) and the most the coaches have ever heard him say. After the banquet Hunter asked me to keep the paper he wrote his speech on. When I said, just throw it away, he was horrified and said, "Mom, this is the very first speech I have ever written and given, I want to save this for when I win the Presidency. I will take it to the White House with me." So, we kept the paper.
The coaches gave the boys their trophy's. The trophy was for being the Regional Champions 2009.
Each of the boys was called up one at a time and they got their momment of fame. When they called Hunter's name, everyone of the players clapped and cheered, the parents all cheered and hollered too. I realized that Hunter was someone these boys looked up to. He is not only a good player, but a good leader. A good role model and a good boy. Hunter is amazing, and the more and more people that come in contact with him tell me how great he is.
As we were cleaning and packing up a lot of parents came up to me and said, "We sure liked watching Hunter play this year, we really hope he comes back next year. This team needs him." And truth be told, Hunter needs this team. He grew leaps and bounds with the coaches and the players. I am so proud of him!
Hunter is a hunter!
Dave took Hunter rabbit hunting in December. He was so excited to be old enough to go on this very cold and dangerous adventure. He woke up very early, dressed quickly and quietly in his 3 layers of UnderArmour and sweats, then the snow suit and boots to top it off. He was sweating by the time they got in the car, but he was very grateful Mom made him dress warmly when they got out on the trails.
Hunter's Uncle Brett gave him a very special pocket knife when he turned 11 years old. It was passed from my Grandpa Burningham to Brett and from Brett to Hunter. Hunter has been dying to use it and was elated when we packed it in his backpack! He went over the rules of having a knife with me and then he said, "Mom this knife is so special I am not sure I can use it. What if it gets dirty." I had to smile, he is such a sweet kid. But I am told Dave gave him the opportunity to use it when he told Hunter to recover the first kill of the day and cutt off it's foot with his knife. Hunter walked over to the rabbit, lifted it up in the air for Dave to see, but did not cut off the foot. He said it was a lot funner to think about and anticipate the hunt, than it was to look into the eyes of the rabbit, knife in hand, men around awaiting Hunter's arival to the realm of "Manhood".
Hunter was able to keep up with the men, up and down the hills, he never tired or fell behind. He was a great lookout and spotted the rabbits as they dashed from bush to bush. Hunter was able to shoot the gun, once, and his shoulder was sore for 2 days. Maybe when he is older, but for know he was content to walk and watch.
He had a great time and looks forward to the next time the guys get together to "destroy beautiful animals of the earth" (as Hayden puts it!)

Happy Birthday Mom!
I had a great birthday this year. I got everything I wanted AND more! I got some great new outfits for Church and work and My beautiful kids and husband got me a GPS, and lets be honest-the GPS was made for directionally challenged people like me. So I was extremely happy and couldn't wait to use it. I downloaded the Black Pearle as my vehicle (I know-shocking!) and the voice is called Dr. Nightmare. He has the voice of an evil genius and makes hilarious comments as we drive around the town. When you go the wrong way he says, "Let me consult my magic book." And when you have arrived he says, "You have arrived at your dreadful destination." LOL!! Some of the other funny things he says are: "You are a brave soul to be driving in these parts.", "Ingore the noise in the trunk.", "hehehehehe" (evil laugh), and "Is it a full moon tonight?", and "Have you checked the trunk lately". It makes me smile everytime he comments and that makes me less stressed to drive! What a brilliant gift!
After a lovely dinner at the Munk's they gave me money (for the new T.V. we are going to get) and dish towels, Grandma Miles gave me money for new boots (that I love). We had a scone (thanks Kristi) and ice cream celebration at the B-ham's and Mom and Dad gave me money (also for the T.V.)--(can't wait to get the thing!!). I went to lunch with Jess, what a great way to celebrate having fun chatting and catching up. Due to illness *see below* I have many other lunch dates on hold and can't wait to spend time with those friends too! So as you can see I had a spectacular birthday! I appreciate all the birthday wishes from my friends and family! You are all the best! And I think turning 35 is a wonderful thing, I loved every minute of it and look forward to the future, getting old ROCKS!

**Illness: Hunter was rushed to the Insta-Care Sunday night, due to the fact that he couldn't breathe. He tested positive for Influenza A and Pnemonia. That put a slight damper on my b-day but I will reschedule lunch dates with BFF's! Thanks for being patient!
