The Manti Pageant

We went to the Manti Pageant with the kids and Maka and Baka.  We started the day hiking in the mountains on Mt. Nebo.  It was a fun hike, but HOT! Baka resorted to taking off his shirt and I promised the kids not to take a picture of him...

After the hike it was off to Mt. Pleasant for a quick swim in so FREEZING cold water!

Then it was on the Manti for the pageant. We ate BBQ Turkey for dinner. It was the first time we have ever eaten BBQ turkey. It was really good.

Then we drove past Great Great Grandma Munk's house.  Baka told us his memmories of the house and they family that lives there may have thought we were staking out the place to rob them, so I decided to stop taking pictures of the house....

Then finally Finally FINALLY it was time to walk 7 blocks to the Temple and get our seats for the Pageant.  As we approached the Temple, we could hear the music being played over the speakers.  The closer we got the better you could hear the music. When we got close enough to recognize that they were playing Hymns over the speakers Hayden stopped dead in his tracks and said, "Are you kidding me, this is a freaking church pageant." I grabbed his hand (anticipating his escape) and said, "Buddy, it is at the Temple, of course it is a church pageant, what did you think it was going to be?" He threw my hand away and said, "A musical at the Temple.  But you didn't say it was a Church one. You never give me the right information."
So as you can see, he was pleased to be there...Maka tried so hard to get him to smile and have fun...

While we were waiting for the pageant to start we decided to walk over to the cemetery and visit Pop and Gauze.  Baka took us a secret passage way to avoid all the traffic...we ended up climbing over and under some fences and through some sprinklers (the boys said it was "enemy fire" and Maka was killed...) but in the end we found got to the grave site safe and sound.

Then it was getting dark and it was time for the pageant to start.

The kids had a lot of fun, even Hayden liked it (but he would NOT admit it).  We drove back to Mt. Pleasant and slept over, which was a great idea.  Then we headed home!
This may be a new summer tradition for our family...I said MAY be ok!
