Hunter is a Baller!

Hunter is a 6th grader at LPA. LPA is a Charter School that goes from K-12th grade. There are 2 campuses, one for the elementary and one for the middle school/high school. This set up makes it really fun for 6th graders, they get to be part of the middle school and participate in the athletics and the student government.
Hunter tried out for the LPA Middle School Basketball team this year with not a lot of hope. The Coach said he may take one, two at the most, 6th graders. He also said they would not get a lot of playing time.
WELL
Hunter made the team, along with 2 of his other 6th grade friends. Not only did he make the team, he starts for the JV team, and gets quite a bit of time in the Varsity team. Hunter has been working really hard and I am amazed at how much he has improved from last year. The team practices 2 hours every day after school. It is a lot of work and he is exhausted from playing with boys much bigger than him.
The coach said he was amazed at the skill the 6th graders had. He said if Hunter were 3 inches taller he would be starting on is Varsity Team...grow Hunter grow! (Hunter is the same size I am now...what is the coach thinking he IS tall!)
The first 3 games the team did not have uniforms, so Hunter had to wear a miss match of whatever they had. It was a bit embarrasing for Hunter, he always likes to look "put together", but he played hard and that is what counts!
