Day 1 was a lot of driving and when we arrived at our lodging the kids were a bit
ancy to get our and do some running around. We quickly dumped our stuff in our rooms and ran to see Old Faithful. The thought of something erupting out of the ground AND wild animals roaming free was too much for Hayden to handle. He was in tears by the time I was forcing his shoes on him. After dragging his terrified body to the elevator and out the front door of the hotel
Uncle J swept in to the rescue and put Hayden up on his shoulders "away from all wild animals and Old Faithful danger". The rest of the groups was running toward the danger that awaited us!
Old Faithful was so exciting until the water and steam blended with the overcast and rainy sky. Then it seemed to loose it's luster...not quite as impressive when you can't really see how high the water shoots. But the kids were happy and didn't know the difference.
After that we walked/ran/jumped/climbed around the Old Faithful trails and found that we were surrounded by a huge herd of buffalo. And lots of hot water!
The first day was just a taste of what was to come! We all went to bed early exhausted from our day of driving. But before I depart these are the cute pictures I took of the cousins!
