Yellowstone Day 2

Day 2 was Father's Day. So we started the morning with breakfast in Maka's room and Father's Day cards for the Dad's we love. Being in Yellowstone was hard to have an official celebration, but we had a good laugh at the funny cards.
Then it was off to see the hot pots and geysers. It was a smelly, cold, windy, rainy day. Hunter was the most effected by it and he took this great picture. After he took it he asked that I post it with the words "This is what our vacation looked like."

Luckily the boys packed their winter gloves and I found a pair for Harley in the car, but the rest of us had frozen hands. The wind was so so so cold...but the sight seeing was fun and the cold weather did not slow the kids down at all!

Thanks to my brilliance I had an extra camera and instructed the kids to only take pictures of me and Aunt E. This way there is proof that we (the mothers that take all the pictures) were actually on vacation and had fun! Harley and Hunter did great and we got some great pictures!

On our way back to the hotel we came across an awesome waterfall. And a place to rock climb. Of course Hayden led the way climbing up and down the CLIFF with ease.
After dinner we decided to split up, some of us wanted to stay at the lodge and play games, some of us wanted to explore the unknown. Those of us that explored the unknown got caught in a torrential hail, rain, snow, wind, storm that drenched us (and froze us) to the bone! We ran as fast and as much as we could but we could not manage to get back to the hotel fast enough! After that I cranked the heater and climbed in bed...to cold and wet to do anything else!
All in all this was a very busy day, we walked till our feet hurt, and still we walked some more. This was a really fun day!

We've never had great weather at Yellowstone. One year, we tried to see Old Faithful three times, but it "faithfully" hailed each time we went. LOL I hope you got at least ONE warm day!
