Stansbury was the COLDEST game yet! The bitter wind cut through all clothing and gloves and blankets. Hayden started to get really nervous before the game even started! He was moaning and groaning in the car on the drive to Stansbury. When we got there he calmed down a little bit, but not enough!
This Stansbury team turned out to be a really hard hitting and tough team. Hayden got hit many times the minute he got the ball from the Quarterback. Their helmets were banging up, his arms, and his back were taking a beating. After 1 and a 1/2 quarters of this abuse Hayden succumed to a panic attack. He couldn't breathe, he was naucseous, lightheaded, started to hyperventalate, and DONE! I felt really bad for him, everyone was confused as to what was going on, he was scared, we were frustrated, the coaches needed him to run the ball...bad went to worse.
But he battled through the attack and went out and played the last quarter of the game. He made some good tackles and ran the ball again before the game was over.
On the ride home he was exhausted and mentally spent. It was a really rough way to start a weekend and Hayden was not happy about it.
