It Ends In A Tie

Today the Blue Jays went head to head with the Padres. The first inning was all Munk. He started at 1st base and the Padres had no hope of getting a ball past him. The Padres hit 2 quick grounders inbetween 1st and 2nd base but each time #7 scooped up the ball and ran to 1st base. His outstanding effort was awared with 2 outs under his belt.

When Munk stepped up to bat the Padres knew they were in trouble. Munk let the first 2 pitches go by then he cracked a line drive inbetween 1st and 2nd. The Padres were unable to stop the ball and Munk wheeled around 1st and made it safely to 2nd. The crowd went wild.

The second inning also quickly became the "Munk story." The Padres could get nothing past him. With a change in the batting strategy the Padres hit a line drive to the pitcher. The ball was scooped up by the pitcher and thrown to Munk who caught it in the nick of time-OUT! It was the MVP play of the game.

In the 3rd inning Coach Hunt moved his star player to pitcher hoping to stop the Padres from hitting the grounders. Unfortunalty there was not a play for Munk to make. The Padres cracked them into the outfield. The last inning of the game Munk hit a massive line drive right into the pitching machine, which shot the ball straight to 1st base and Munk suffered his 1st out of the year.

The game ended 9 to 9 which was fine with Munk. He said, "I like the tie, we are both the best. Peyton, Stocky, and Bostyn were here to cheer for me, that was sweet." After some investigation we discovered that indeed his best cousins were at the game accompanied by their Mothers. A big thanks to the Fox and Jensen families that came to cheer on #7.
